Greenoxx Global Environmental Program
Greenoxx 好 Global Environmental Program (GGEP) is a project specially designed to be commercialized to companies, industries and governments which contribute to the contamination of the atmosphere and that intend to participate in
the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) of the Kyoto Protocol and voluntary markets such as the Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX).
Greenoxx Global Environmental Program consists of the installation, development and management of sustainable forests specifically in Uruguay and in Latin America in general.
Due to its innovative characteristics, GGEP has been declared of National Interest by the Presidency of the Republic of Uruguay. Additionally, during the same year, the program was declared of Ministerial Interest by the Ministry of Agriculture and obtained the Auspice and Promotion of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In this way, the companies investing in the Greenoxx Program will have the assurance of the institutional and technical support of the Uruguayan State.
As it is known, forests sequester carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere, one of the main gases responsible of the greenhouse effect. Carbon dioxide is sequestered in the wood as biomass, transforming this process into a very important mechanism of mitigating climate change.
Forestry plantations developed by the program will be FSC certified, a fact that will guarantee the aforementioned sustainability. At the same time, verification will be carried out in order to quantify the carbon fixed in the wood and therefore the quantity of carbon dioxide sequestered from the atmosphere.
The Greenoxx Global Environmental Program has developed different areas, which carry out different activities such as:
- The Greenoxx Project
- The GreenCar Program
- Greenoxx Consulting
- Greenoxx NGO
